Robin Falck, a talented designer from Finland, has skillfully crafted a diminutive dwelling for his cherished pastime – organizing forest hikes and relishing the splendors of Scandinavian nature. This cozy abode, named Nido (the Italian word for “bird’s nest”), was born from his creativity.
The compact size of Nido is a result of Finland’s housing regulations, which permit the construction of small houses under 30-40 square meters without special authorization.
Over the course of three months, Robin Falck dedicated himself to the project of building his summer retreat, relying solely on local resources and repurposed materials. Astonishingly, the construction was completed in just two weeks, and the estimated cost, excluding his labor, was around $10,500.
Inside, a generous, sloping wall embraces a vast window that floods the interior with abundant natural light, offering the delightful spectacle of the night sky full of stars.
The ground floor of Nido comprises a charming living area with a compact kitchen, while the attic provides a snug double bed and additional storage space.
