Skyeia is a cabin nestled among trees and surrounded by ferns, featuring a bold red trim that contrasts with the cedar shake and raw oak logs of its exterior. Its large front porch offers a view of the hill and hiking trails above Gravelly Run, a tributary to the lake. The cabin’s proportionate front lawn area is covered with sod salvaged from the roof of a Phoenix building.
Heart pine salvaged from the Andrew Carnegi locomotive shed has been used in Skeia to create beautiful tight-grained ceilings and floors, as well as accent features in the “bunk bed” area. Luna Blue cabinets made from doors collected from salvage piles, with paperstone countertops, complete the look. Relaxing on the front porch of Skyeia, you can enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or read at dusk while listening to the serene song of birds.
